Why did you choose Annapolis?

I have lived here my entire life. I love the water, downtown, and the local stores. I wanted my wedding day to feel familiar as I took the next step in my life.

Where did you get married?

The ceremony was at Mt. Moriah A.M.E. church on Bay Ridge Avenue and we went down to the dock for pictures afterwards. We also had out rehearsal dinner in Annapolis at Rams Head. The reception was at Michael's 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie.

Describe your wedding setting?

Annapolis is a great town with old charm. The brick-lined streets downtown really remind you of all of the history of the city. Depending on the time of the year, you're likely to see midshipmen in uniform walking the streets. Annapolis is a very picturesque city and you can capture romantic moments at any time of the year. The little alleys and nooks around the city also make for great engagement and photo shoot opportunities.

What was the most memorable part of your special day?

There were so many memorable parts! I enjoyed having the water by the City Dock and Naval Academy in the background of my pictures. I rented a trolley that took us to other photo opportunities downtown as well. We got a really good shot standing at the bottom of Main Street. I really enjoyed capturing the memories from my childhood in my wedding pictures.

Any tips for couples planning a wedding?

There are great spots in downtown Annapolis but you should go during the week as the weekends (especially nice ones) are very crowded. The best spots for photos are near the dock, Naval Academy (be mindful of vehicle restrictions), and around Main Street/Church and State Circle.

Would you recommend Annapolis & Anne Arundel County?

This is my hometown! I love that you can deal with locally owned businesses and it has an old charm. Depending on your budget and personal preferences you can have just about any style of wedding in Annapolis. You get the bigger city options but a small town feeling.
